ECPAT Youth Advocates Observe National Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Week 2017

The ECPAT Children and Youth Advocates (EYCA) in the Philippines together with its long-time partner Tugon Ateneo, observed of the National Sexual Abuse Awareness Week (NCSAAW) on February 13-18, 2017. Tugon is a students’ organization at the Ateneo de Manila University which, like EYCA, conducts activities and campaigns on the protection of children against sexual abuse and exploitation.


For the whole week of NCSAAW, EYCA set up an advocacy booth at the Ateneo where activities such as dissemination of information materials, child rights discussions, and photo booth allowed university students to learn more about ECPAT and its work. The culminating activity which was held on February 18 at the University of the Philippines consisted of fun, recreational and learning activities enjoyed by over 150 children and youth from different Barangays in Quezon City.
